Department of Microbiology, Central University of Rajasthan came into existence in July 2012 under the School of Life Sciences. The department is currently running in close association of other departments within School of Life Sciences i.e. Department of Biotechnology and Department of Biochemistry. The mandates of the department are to undertake detailed post-graduate level teaching, enable students for national/ international competitive examinations e.g. CSIR- UGC- NET; ICMR and DBT –JRF fellowship; GATE Exam etc. The department also envisions extending in the field of microbiological research. The department boasts of highly qualified faculty with Ph.D. trainings from premier microbiological research institutes viz., IMTECH- CSIR, Chandigarh and IARI, New Delhi.
