1. Nerve physiology and synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus and basal ganglia.

2. Neurodegeneration and neuroregeneration.

3. Neuronal-glial interaction in healthy vs. diseased conditions.

4. Synaptic and neurotransmission impairment in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.

5. Role of neuroinflammatory molecules, such as Tumour Necrosis Factor alpha (TNFα), in mediating neurodegenerative disease conditions.

6. Neuropharmacology and genetics.

 

Specialty: Animal surgery (stereotaxy, AAV9 injections, ICV drug delivery, intrathecal surgery, etc.), fiber photometry, electrophysiology (single-cell and field recording), voltammetry, animal behaviour (operant chamber, animal maze, etc.), molecular biology (e.g., western blot and ELISA), histological techniques, tissue dissection, and microscopy.
